It was with great joy and anticipation that six Daughters of Wisdom gathered at the beginning of September 2019, in Port Moresbey, the capital of Papua New Guinea to begin preparations for the discernment towards their profession of final Vows. For some of us, it was wonderful to meet again as we had journeyed together in the Novitiate.
We are:
Sr. Josphin Xalxo from India
Sr. Berlinda Yande and Sr. Beata Ayombe from PNG
Sr. Yuliana (Jenny) Emol and Sr Maria (Seri) Sriati Jiwing from Indonesia
and Sr. Siobhán Boyle from GBI.
We are joined by Sr. Immaculate Makina and Sr. Veronica Paison who will accompany us on this journey.
Our journey began with a wonderful celebration of the Eucharist on the 8th September with Fr Aloi smm and Fr Roi smm to mark the formal opening of this discernment.
Each of us has journeyed with Wisdom and with the Daughters of Wisdom in the last six or seven years and we are now ready to discern the next stage of this wonderful and mysterious journey.
We are very grateful for this opportunity to come together as an international community in the beautiful setting of Port Moresbey. We look forward to getting to know one another, to growing together in love and to deepening our knowledge and understanding of Wisdom’s desire for our lives.
Over the next two and a half months we will explore together the theme of our discernment “Women, disciples of Wisdom”. We will explore many aspects of discipleship, including women in society, in the Church and in Scripture, women following Montfort’s mystical way, women witnessing Christ Wisdom and women sent by Wisdom, in our time together.
We thank Sr. Immaculate and Sr. Veronica for making themselves available to accompany us on this journey.
We thank the Congregational Leadership team for their continued support, love and prayers we thank especially our communities and sisters who have journey with us since the beginning. You will be especially in our thoughts and prayers as we begin this new and exciting stage of our journey.
