New General Council of the Daughters of Wisdom: renewed impetus.

On this day of October 12th, as we celebrate Our Lady of the Pillar, we are pleased to announce the new General Council of the Daughters of Wisdom, elected during our 60th General Chapter, which was held in Angers from June 23rd to July 14th, 2024.

A new team to guide our mission

The new General Council, reflecting the international nature of our Congregation, is composed as follows:

• Sister Rani Kurian: Superior General
• Sister Antonella Prestia: General Councillor
• Sister Nadige Jean-Charles: General Councillor
• Sister Marie Immaculate Makina: General Councillor
• Sister Lourdes Alonso Vicente: General Councillor

Our Lady of the Pillar: A model of boldness and openness

Following the example of Our Lady of the Pillar, who crossed the ocean to reach the nations, our Sisters of the General Council are also committed to daring with confidence, opening up to unity with boldness and creativity within the Congregation’s Body to live the “Liberos” of Father de Montfort.

New orientations for our Congregation

The General Chapter has defined clear orientations to guide our Congregation in the coming years:

1. Unity and collaboration: Strengthen our unity as the Congregation’s Body, by thinking about our mission and resources in a global way rather than by entity.
2. Living “LIBEROS”: Deepen our awareness of being one Body, recognizing that the Body is greater than the mere sum of its parts.
3. Openness to new calls: Discern with wisdom the new calls of the mission, being ready to adapt and respond to the emerging needs of our world.
4. Responsible management: Adopt a responsible and innovative approach in managing our resources in the service of our mission.

A future guided by Wisdom

On this feast of Our Lady of the Pillar, we renew our commitment to “Seek – Contemplate – Reveal” Wisdom in the heart of today’s world. May the example of Our Lady of the Pillar inspire us to be present and to carry a message of Wisdom in today’s world, responding with courage and creativity to the challenges of our time.
