The Year of Consecrated Life began on the first Sunday of the liturgical year, 2014.
Pope Francis and the entire dicastery open the way to this Year by a reflection on the "manner of being religious in today's world." The Pope called out to religious men and women inviting them "to find new answers to Jesus' invitation /.../ do not be afraid, he said, to leave behind "old wineskins containing new wine that has matured since Vatican II." Do not be afraid to evaluate the wineskins and see if they are fit for this new wine and capable of bringing it to maturation.
Our holy Founders, enamoured with the love of Wisdom, courageously took the direction towards a new way of living the Gospel. The year of Consecrated life is a time for us, Daughters of Wisdom, to take the necessary steps to seek new wineskins and to open wide to our contemporary world the possibility of living today the Folly of the Gospel in consecrated life.
