«Send our Congregations, Lord, worthy labourers for your harvest so that your kingdom may be established and your Name honoured among all the nations. »
This is a prayer that arises from the heart of each Daughter of Wisdom in our Province. And we now rejoice for the Lord of the Harvest listened to our plea after a gap of three years. The blessing of Almighty Love came to the Congregation as the person of Sr. Josphin. Actually, she listened to God’s call and responded to Him to gather His harvest by making her first Profession in the Congregation of the Daughters of Wisdom. That event took place on May 16, 2013, in Bangalore, India. What greater gift could we expect from Mother Marie Louise on the 2oth anniversary of her Beatification?
The first Profession of Sr. Josphin was a family celebration.
It took place in the hall of Montfort Nivas community, Bangalore. Along with the sisters of the province, Sr. Josphin’s family members were also present on the occasion. Sister took her first vows during the Eucharistic celebration at 11 a.m. Fr. Michael Sagayaraj smm, Rector of the Maria Bhavan Scholasticate, was the main celebrant. The celebration began with an entrance dance by the aspirants, who escorted the priest and novice, Josphin, to the altar. Mass introduction was given in two languages: English and Hindi. Fr. Michael gave a beautiful and meaningful homily on the vows, and he connected it with the Life of Father De Montfort and Mother Marie Louise of Jesus. He spoke about Marie Louise’s long years of stay in «La Maison Longue» in Saint Laurent sur Sèvre, France. He also recalled the way she set an example for all of us, living her commitments and seeking the will of God with perseverance and faith.
Sr.Lillykutty Joseph, the Provincial Leader, received the vows.
We were about fifty (50) witnesses of this joyful event: Daughters of Wisdom, formees, and Sr. Josphin’s family members. After the Eucharistic celebration, Sr. Josphin thanked all those who helped and motivated her to commit herself to the Lord. She received her first obedience (sending) to the Community of Marie Louise. That community is involved in Asha Deep (Light of Hope) project for the young girl children from the street as well as from broken families. The celebration ended with a Magnificat Dance by the Aspirants, followed by a fellowship meal.
We thank God for His abundant mercy and love. To-day, there is another Daughter of Wisdom among us and we are blessed with the gift of many young women who are aspiring to become Daughters of Wisdom! Magnificat!
